Wooden Main Poles

Wooden Main Poles are the traditional option, and are generally a little cheaper than their aluminium counterparts. They are also heavier, so can be more difficult to manoeuvre.

Our wooden Main Poles are made from ‘Picea Abies’ (Norwegian Spruce) – a white wood - and treated with a water-based fungicide. Over time, some slight fissuring may occur, but the structural integrity of the wood will not be affected. Customers can oil, prime, or paint their Main Poles as they wish.

We supply standard height - 21’ or 21’6” poles (for 40’ wide marquees). Both types are slightly tapered for stability with a base of 120mm. However, we can adjust heights as required.

Aluminium Main Poles

Aluminium Main Poles will last longer than wooden Main Poles, and they’re lighter in weight. This makes them more popular with buyers - however, they are slightly more expensive.

Both Main Pole types can be split for ease of use – and they’re completed with a spike or butterfly top depending on whether they’re to be used with a Pull-Up of Push-Up Marquee.

Aluminium Main Poles are 11.5cm in diameter, and are manufactured from 3mm aluminium.

They come in an anodised finish, giving a clean sheen.
